Join us for an Immersive 6-day pottery retreat surrounded by the scenic Austrian Alps and vineyards, designed for both total beginners and advanced potters. You’ll spend around 4-8h a day on the wheel or hand-building, we will do an excursion to the forest to forage wild clay and pitfire It, make some tools for pottery, sit around the bondfire, and a swim in a crystal-clear glacier lake and much more. The Boutique hotel features a pool and sauna, the experience perfectly blends professional skill-building with deep nature relaxation.


The Pottery Studio

The pottery studio is located in a 300-year-old farmhouse, in a small town surrounded by mountains and forests.
Around 4 - 8h Throwing per day. You will learn and refine your pottery skills, all the steps of throwing on the wheel, trimming, glazing, recycling clay, firing, hand-builduing and much more.

The Teacher

Anna Cebular was born in Austria, and is based in London. She has 24 years of experience as a Potter.

Anna did her Ceramic Masters Degree at Central Saint Martins, London in 2021 and  worked for Tortus London over the last 3 years. More about Anna

Who is it for?

For Beginners and Advanced Potters, everyone is welcome and will get the attention they need in a small Group of just 9 Participants. No experience needed, just an open mind and love for pottery. 

Forest Walks
calm down, ground yourself, and maybe find some mushrooms and berries along the way. The Region around the city Deutschlandsberg Is surrounded by vineyards and scenic views.

Wild Clay Excursion
learn how to find and dig your own clay in the forest,  using an ancient technique to fire It

Bonfire night
Surrounded by forests, food on sticks,  making pots, nice company and lots of stories to tell...

Wild Lake swimming 

glass clear water of a glacier lake that is available to swim in summer. In drinking quality, not far from the pottery. Perfect for a refreshing break



The Hotel

not far from the Farm Pottery, with a scenic view over the mountains. Breakfast is included.

The 6-Day Program


Day 1: Arrival & Welcome

  • Arrive at the Hotel. Accessible by public transport. (Pick up service from Graz Airport or the Train Station possible with an additional charge)
  • Check-in and settle into your room.
  • extra program for early arrivals
  • 7:00 PM: Welcome drink and a light "Meet the Potters" gathering.


Day 2: Foundations 

  • Morning: Pick up from hotel. 
  • Studio orientation and initial skill-building (throwing on the wheel).
  • Lunch: Group lunch at the studio.
  • Afternoon: Throwing on the wheel, trimming
  • Evening: à la carte dinner.


Day 3: Earth Firing and tool making

  • Morning: Throwing and Trimming
  • Forest Excursion. We head into the woods to identify and gather wild clay.
  • Lunch: Group lunch at the bonfire.
  • Afternoon: Refining your pieces and processing our foraged wild clay 
  • Evening:  Tool making, wild-firing demonstration with our foraged clay.


Day 4: The Art of the Form

  • Morning: Intensive pottery session (3 hours).Morning studio session (focus on finishing and detailing).Glazing
  • Lunch: Group lunch at the studio.
  • Afternoon: Pottery studio, later swimming
  • Evening: Dinner.


Day 5: Final Touches & Reflections

  • Morning: Studio session
  • Lunch: Farewell group lunch.
  • Afternoon: Final studio session, Last questions and reflections. 
  • Evening: Dinner


Day 6: Departure

  • Final breakfast.
  • Departure and flights home, carrying your new skills (and memories) with you.
